Not fond of f/f slash, but I liked:
Jitterbug Perfume by DashaK  {G} [NC-17]

Don't read f/f slash but made an exception for: Valrhona by GA. Incredible story. 

Don't really like f/f slash at all, but I LOVED:
Unsubtle Goddess by Foxy Meg {W} [NC-17]
I even wrote and begged her for a sequel.

Not fond of Mulder/Other but liked:

was a great story 

I usually dislike Cross-overs because they are almost always Scully/Other or Mulder/Other, but I liked:

Not fond of crossovers, but I liked:

(I know, I know....a Gilligan's Island crossover, but that's one of my favorite classic tv shows so it made me laugh).

The Dark Slide of Ecstacy by Shalimar {G}{W} [NC-17]
Don't like reading rape fics, but the 
Iolokus series by Rivka T. and Mustang Sally {G}{A}{W} [NC-17]
really hooked me. Amazing fic. 

I am not usually fond of M/M slash, however I am in love with Donnilees's new Vampire series {G}{W} [NC-17]
it also has tons of MSR. 
Not usually fond of Mulder/Doggett, but I liked: 
Le Puceau by Diandra Hollman {G}{W} [NC-17]
I'm not fond of M/K, but Hors de Combat, part one, by Liz O'Brien {G} [R]
at Ephemeral was really exceptional--I glanced at it, and ended up reading it. Lots of angst, and MSR also....well done
Don't normally like Krycek/Skinner but ate up every last word of: 
Exigency by Louise Wu and Zoe Takashi {G} [NR]
then begged for more
Hate slash, dislike M/O or S/O, apathetic towards Skinner, dislike CD, boggled in awe over:
World's Child by Xanthe {G}{M} [R]

Not fond of M&S anywhere near drugs, but couldn't stop reading: 
Just Say Yes by Jeylan {G} [R]

Don't like heavy angst and character death too much, in spite of 
having written my own, but I can't resist rereading: 
Revenant by Joyce McKibben {G} [PG]
Very good for when you want a good cry.
I avoid main character death but bawled at and loved: 
The Crouching Thing by Sarah Ellen Parsons {G} [PG]
The Way it Should Have Gone by The Reverend {G}{W} [NC-17]
Hate character death fics but I have a love/hate thing going on for: 
The Wasteland by Prufrock's Love and 
Grace Realized by Michaela. Both worth reading. 
I avoid CD at all costs, but have to say that 
Heavy by XochiLuvr {G} [NC-17]
is one of my favorites. Just read this one little part. Gives me chills every time. 
  In death he's just another body-bagged, toe-tagged package, waiting for something in
  death with the one thing he never had in life: infinite patience. 
  When I asked him if he ever wanted to get out of the car or just slow down, I never in my
  worst nightmares expected him to drive off without me. My wish was for us to be a
  family. Somehow he killed the dream the same day I learned he'd helped me make it real. 

I cannot stand babyfic or S leaves the x-files fic, but I read all the way to the end of:
Five years and One Night by Shalimar {G} [NC-17]
I'm even less fond of M&S&baby fic but I thoroughly enjoyed:
Milk & Cake by Emma Brightman {G} [PG] 
The Discipline of Blessings by scullysfan

Hate S9 but thought Light Moves did a good job with what S9 left

Another type of story I usually avoid are fics that have M&S as secondary characters. HOWever, I read and was blown away by:
Retam Sullet by OneMillionAndNine {G} [NC-17]
O.M.G!!! If anybody would have told me I would be reading a story featuring the two characters in this story, I would have ~snorted~ and walked away. All I can say is...sign language has never been sexier. 

Tellus Mater by OneMillionAndNine {G} [NC-17]
which is a previous telling of Retam Sullet. Same characters, same basic premise, but different events. It's sadder and contains CD but is equally as powerful as RS.
